Who is this diploma program designed for?+
Dentists, periodontists, and implantologists seeking to specialize in the most complex cases of vertical bone regeneration. Basic clinical experience in implantology or periodontal surgery is recommended. No prior specialty is required.
What is the difference between this diploma and the Diploma in Bone Regeneration?+
The GBR Diploma covers the fundamentals of guided bone regeneration — sausage technique, horizontal augmentation, membranes — with 151.6 hours. This Vertical GBR diploma specializes in the most demanding protocols: Urban technique, Khoury technique, titanium meshes, and advanced complication management. They are complementary programs and can be taken in parallel or in sequence.
What are the Urban technique and the Khoury technique?+
They are the world reference protocols for advanced vertical bone augmentation. The Urban technique, developed by Dr. Istvan Urban, uses GBR with non-resorbable membranes in the protocol known as the 'box technique'. The Khoury technique, by Dr. Fouad Khoury, uses autologous cortical laminae to reconstruct severe bone defects. Both are studied and analyzed in depth in this program.
When does the program start and how long does it last?+
The program starts in August 2026 in online + in-person format, with a total of 156.2 hours of training. The detailed schedule is available in the program brochure. Spots are limited to guarantee the quality of the training process.
Can I take it from outside Chile?+
Yes. The international program is 100% online (USD $1,250 per diploma or USD $2,350 for the double program). The Clinical Internship (in-person practice with patients in Chile) is contracted separately (USD $2,500 per program or USD $3,500 for the double program).
What certification do you get upon completion?+
Upon completing the program, you receive the Diploma in Vertical GBR and Complication Management, issued by PerioPlastic.
