What is the difference with the Diploma in Vertical GBR?+
This diploma covers the complete foundation of guided bone regeneration: sausage technique, membranes, horizontal augmentation, and alveolar ridge preservation. The Diploma in Vertical GBR goes deeper into more complex cases: Urban technique, Khoury technique, titanium meshes, and advanced complications. They are complementary programs: this GBR is the foundation, the Vertical is the specialization.
Is the complete sausage technique taught?+
Yes. The sausage technique — originally developed for horizontal augmentation — is studied in depth, covering indications, step-by-step protocol, and clinical variants. It is one of the core techniques in the horizontal augmentation module.
When does the program start and how many hours does it have?+
The program starts in August 2026 with 151.6 hours of training in online + in-person format. The available double degree (236 hours) is with the Diploma in Periodontal Plastic Surgery, with a single enrollment.
What does the in-person part of the program include?+
The Clinical Internship includes hands-on surgical practice with real patients in Santiago, Chile, alongside Dr. Pablo Urrutia. It is contracted separately from the online program (USD $2,500 per program or USD $3,500 for the double program). For students in Chile, the in-person schedule is confirmed during enrollment.
Can I take it from abroad?+
Yes. The international program is 100% online (USD $1,250 per diploma or USD $2,350 for the double program). The Clinical Internship (in-person practice with patients in Chile) is contracted separately (USD $2,500 per program or USD $3,500 for the double program).
